sharing know-how

iplas is able to offer concentrated know-how about microwave excited plasmas and plasma processing technique. We have multiple qualifications at our disposal which enables us to solve problems on a high technological level without losing the view for pragmatic solutions.

iplas has generated research experience in various fields of plasma technology over many years. This yields many opportunities for synergies and allows fast and tailor-made adaptations according to given technical requirements. Due to the novelty of a stationary, homogeneous plasma up to atmospheric pressure we can offer state of the art know-how. Besides that iplas can support its customers in their own marketing activities and we offer to share our knowledge of R&D based cooperations.

mission oriented development

Based on in depth plasma and process know-how iplas can run research projects in various fields of application. Simultaneous experience from plasma and production technology are the driving factors for iplas´ fast and pragmatic solutions of technical or technological problems.

Customised Development is offered by the iplas laboratory to share our high level of competence with our customers. Synergy effects from various processes are the base for a fast approach to nearly any new application the iplas developers face. iplas possesses medium pressure plasma equipment that is unique in the world. We offer not only laboratory facilities necessary to conduct reliable and fast tests but also service and manpower for smaller or even larger R&D projects.

feasibility studies, sampling and pilot production

Feasibility studies and sampling are regularly arranged by the iplas laboratory. They are conducted in order to test materials and new applications or processes.
plasma treated car bumper, scratch test
surface activation, measurement of wetting angle
Especially for new applications the pool of available plasma sources at iplas allows an optimal adjustment of technology to the respective sample. Before the final step into industrial production is made, iplas can offer to install an individual system for pilot production purposes.

tailored system design and integration

Once the phases above are finished iplas can help to transfer the plasma components or systems into an industrial environment.

semi-automated diamond deposition system

Once it is decided to introduce a plasma process, the customer can choose between different stages of extension. This starts with a manually operated system or a semi-automated system. The most complex design is a customised fully-automated system that is completely integrated into the production line. All automated plasma systems are equipped with PLC based control technology to provide highest standard of process reliability. Furthermore process automation ensures fast plasma treatment.

For the overall economy it is crucial that CYRANNUS® plasma systems allow relatively high process pressure in contrast to conventional plasma concepts. From the user´s point of view this has the following advantages:

  • in-line / on-line treatment of components is possible (no batch mode necessary),
  • short treatment cycles,
  • easy substrate handling,
  • small set-up and
  • high levels of skill to operate and maintain a system are not required.

All in all CYRANNUS® technology is a substantial progress from an industrial point of view because it is more flexible and has lower costs than other alternatives.

Depending on the production requirement the material can be fed to the CYRANNUS® plasma manually, by robot, in cassettes or with a conveyor belt.
